Milwaukee
Events & Places of Interest
Milwaukee
may be known to outsiders as Cream City given its
association with beer and brats (we're talking sausage,
not crumb crunchers), but over the last 25 years,
local residents have seen the city transform itself
into a place with small town appeal and big city
amenities. Milwaukee is now home to two new internationally
recognized museums: the Calatrava-designed Milwaukee
Art Museum, and the brand new Discovery
World at Pier Wisconsin. Milwaukee is also home
to countless art galleries and niche museums such
as the Eisner
Museum of Advertising & Design, the Microphone
Museum and the Ward
Irish Music Archives (our host).
Other galleries can be found at the Milwaukee
Art Dealers Association website.
From
the symphony orchestra to specialty theatrical
companies, Milwaukee is known for the quality and
affordability of its fine arts productions. For
a list of performing arts organizations, venues
and current productions, visit the Milwaukee
Theatre Groups website.
Besides
great art and inexpensive entertainment, Milwaukee
is home to a wide range of architectural styles.
The Pfister
Hotel is a five-star Victorian hotel
and the Milwaukee
Hilton, our host hotel, is a
classic of the Art-Deco period. The 1892 Pabst
Mansion is another major Milwaukee destination
built in the Flemish Renaissance Revival style.
The Villa
Terrace Decorative Arts Museum is an
Italian Renaissance style villa that includes a
hillside of gardens stretching down to Lake Michigan.
Of
course you can still get a brewery tour at Miller
Brewery and shop for your favorite old world sausage
at Usinger’s Famous Sausage Factory. And
speaking of sausage - if you love big hogs, be
sure to check out the Harley-Davidson tour!

Milwaukee Convention & Visitors
